The purpose of the MU-FM District is to create a cohesive and mutually supportive mixed-use neighborhood around the University of Albany Downtown Campus, to improve the appearance of that area, to ensure a vibrant atmosphere for students and residents alike, and to protect residential uses surrounding the Downtown Campus from potential adverse impacts of a large and growing university campus.
